Amazon is moving into Baltimore!
Amazon.com is going to build a large fulfillment center in Southeast Baltimore, according to an article in the Baltimore Business Journal.
The fulfillment center will be at the site of the former General Motors plant.
It will create more than 1,000 full-time jobs in Baltimore. Amazon.com will ship books, electronics and other goods from the facility.
The old GM plant and soon-to-be Amazon fulfillment center is located on Holabird Avenue in the Chesapeake Commerce Center in Southeast Baltimore. This is very close to the Canton neighborhood of Downtown Baltimore, near 895 and 95 and the Harbor Tunnel and Fort McHenry Tunnel.
It is wonderful to have such a well-known and highly regarded company open a large facility here in Baltimore, and bring 1,000 new jobs to the area.
I want to know — will Amazon provide SAME DAY SERVICE to Baltimore residents? I hope so!
