Baltimore Home Prices Up, But NOT as High as the National Average

House Mortgage Question via flickr cc

Baltimore home prices are up, but NOT as high as the National average.

I actually had someone the other day say something to the effect of, “I just saw that prices are up about 12%, so I think we can get more for my house.”

I hadn’t seen that article yet, but then an article from the Baltimore Business Journal put that discussion to rest, showing a 5.3% gain during that same time period.

Though yes, the Baltimore housing market is rising, it is not at the over 12% rate that some areas of the country are seeing.

This reinforces what I have tried to show for a long time — REAL ESTATE IS VERY LOCAL.

Even STREET-BY-STREET sometimes, the prices can change.

Definitely neighborhood-by-neighborhood.
