The Maryland State Fair begins on Friday, August 24 and runs through September 3, 2012.

As the ads say, these are the “11 best days summer!” (though I am sure many of us may disagree. There are lots of carnival games, plenty of rides, live thoroughbred racing, livestock for sale, a petting zoo, concerts and more.

The big concert this year is Victoria Justice on August 31. Victoria Justice is an in-demand singer with a very popular show on Nickelodeon. The Band Perry will be performing on September 1, which should be another crowd pleasing concert!

Just like the last two years, the Timonium Farmers Market will be open each day to get fresh fruit, vegetables, yummy baked goods, eggs & pork products, plus meat and poultry from local farmers.

Food Lion also again has a limited number of $5 off ride coupons for certain days (but this does NOT include the price of admission.)

Ride tickets generally cost $1 each, and rides take 1-6 tickets. You can get a book of ride tickets, or a wrist band for certain days and times. Again, rides are NOT included in the price of admission to the fair.

Admission for 2012 is still $8 for adults, $6 for Seniors 62 & older, and $3 for children 6-11. Children 5 & under are free.

Parking is $3 on site, but free at the Deereco Park & Ride. There are a number of private parking lots where you can pay for parking as well.

So enjoy last 11 days of “summer” and come to Timonium and to the Maryland State Fair!

The Maryland State Fairgrounds are located at 2200 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093.
