The Maryland State Fair begins on Friday, August 22 and runs through September 1, 2014.

The Maryland State fair showcases lots of carnival games, plenty of rides, live thoroughbred racing, livestock for sale, a petting zoo, concerts and more.

The concerts this year are: 38 Special w/ Great Train Robbery,Grand Funk Railroad w/ Johnny Chill, andPhil Vassar w/ Lyndsey Highlander. There are also smaller concerts throughout the fair.

Just like the last four years, the Timonium Farmers Market will be open each day, offering fresh fruit, vegetables, yummy baked goods, eggs & pork products, plus meat and poultry from local farmers.

Food Lion also again has a limited number of $5 off ride coupons for certain days (This does NOT include the price of admission.) You have to visit your local Food Lion to get the $5 off coupon.

There is also a special WRISTBAND Friday, August 22, and Monday, August 25 – Thursday, August 28th, 2014.  The special price ride wristband will ONLY be sold from 12-6pm THOSE DAYS, where fairgoers can pay $23 to receive a wristband to ride an unlimited number of rides from 12-10 pm ON THOSE DAYS.

Labor Day itself (9/1/14) has another wristband special from 10am – Close.  Fairgoers can pay $23 to ride an unlimited number of rides from 10am – Close.

All other times/days, ride tickets generally cost $1 each, and rides take 2-6 tickets. You can get a book of ride tickets, or a wrist band for certain days and times. Again, rides are NOT included in the price of admission to the fair.

Admission for 2014 is still $8 for adults, $6 for Seniors 62 & older, and $3 for children 6-11. Children 5 & under are free.

Parking is $3 on site, but free at the Deereco Park & Ride. There are a number of private parking lots where you can pay for parking as well.
