Day two of purple week, where a few of my friends from twitter & I decided to show support for our Baltimore Ravens all week by wearing purple each day.

Not only am I wearing purple, I wore a Ravens fleece, and also got my playoff decal today to put on my car — though until after the snow, it is going inside the car.

This is for you, @katekatebear, @sarah21210, @janineculotta & @SushGirl!

This week is the Maryland Public Schools Secondary Athletic Association (MPSSAA)’s football finals. This year is very exciting because not only will the games be played in Downtown Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium, they will be televised live on TV!

The first game will be Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 7 pm between Franklin High School in Reisterstown in Baltimore County and Wilde High School in Columbia, MD.

Friday night showcases Urbana High School from Frederick County against Henry A Wise in Prince George’s County.

Saturday is a double header with the first game at noon for the Class 1A title with Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Baltimore City taking on Havre de Grace in Harford County. The second game is at 3:30 pm with Middletown High School in Frederick taking on McDonough from Charles County.

The MPSSAA is excited for this weekend, which culminates in the Sunday night Ravens game versus The Pittsburgh Steelers. This is a huge football week here in Baltimore!

So head to Federal Hill and M&T Bank Stadium in Downtown Baltimore for a half week of great football. Support the young men playing in the championships and then the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night!

Fall Back November 7, 2010

This weekend is the end of Daylight Savings Time, so don’t forget to turn your clocks back before heading to bed Saturday night! An “extra” hour of sleep will hopefully make for a good start to your day on Sunday. At 2 am Sunday morning, November 7, 2010 it will become 1 am, allowing for the “extra” hour.

This Sunday is also a Baltimore Ravens home game against the Miami Dolphins, so hopefully the extra hour of sleep will help our team be well rested and play their best at gametime!

It also lets people either begin tailgating an hour earlier (though the lots still won’t open until 8 am), or take that extra time to get those last minute pre-game supplies.

Changing your clocks is also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. Though many newer homes are hardwired, older Towson homes are not, and need to be adjusted. Don’t wait until they start chirping — keep your family safe & change the batteries now!

Enjoy your extra hour on Sunday morning, November 7, 2010.

I plan to sleep a little extra so I can be ready to cheer on the Ravens!

Ray Lewis Real Estate Firm

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis now has his name backing a new commercial real estate firm called RL52 Realty, currently based in Boca Raton, FL.

The official kick off to Ray Lewis Realty will be at the International Council of Shopping Centers from August 22-24, 2010 outside Orlando, FL.

Ray Lewis has recently put his name behind a number of projects, including MVP Entertainment in Hunt Valley, which, according to their Facebook page has:

2 restaurants, Sub-Zero Vodka Bar, Sushi Bar, 40ft Sports Bar, 38 Bowling lanes, 2 Golf Simulators,Event Catering & arcade more…

MVP Entertainment will be located in Hunt Valley Towne Center, where the old Wal-Mart used to be. The plan is to open mid-to-late fall. This should be a great addition to the Hunt Valley shopping area!

Ray Lewis attended University of Miami, which may have a lot to do with his real estate firm opening in Florida.

Since Ray is such a great linebacker for the Ravens, I hope to see his commercial real estate venture do well. For Baltimore Commercial Real Estate needs, contact me to access our KW Commercial division at Keller Williams Excellence Realty.

Meanwhile, it’s almost officially football season. GO RAY LEWIS & BALTIMORE RAVENS!

Baltimore Ravens Incredible Playoff Game Win, Head to Indianapolis Next Week

The Baltimore Ravens beat the Patriots 33-14 in an incredible win, making Baltimore PROUD!

From the first seconds when Ray Rice ran 83 yards to score a touchdown on the first drive to the amazing defensive plays forcing turnovers, the Ravens were there to WIN.

It feels like 2001 all over again, and that is GREAT.

The underdogs that no one expected to win, a wildcard into the playoffs, the misfit team that you wonder what they can do.

And that’s just how the Baltimore Ravens like it.

Going into Indianapolis to play the Colts as the clear underdogs, against a nearly perfect 2009 team, a team we have not beaten since 2002, the odds are stacked against us. And that is where the excitement comes alive for our players and our city.

Expect Baltimore to be purpled-up as we get together behind our Ravens and support their playoff run.

Times like these are the ones that show just how exciting, fun, and wonderful it is to live in Baltimore!

Baltimore Paints the Town Purple to Support Our Ravens’ Playoff Run

The City of Baltimore knows how to show its’ pride in the hometeam of the Baltimore Ravens. RavensLogoCityHall1710

Yesterday morning, outside of City Hall and on Federal Hill, the Ravens groundcrew painted the logo on the grass to show our city’s support.   WJZ has video of them stenciling the logo. If you live in Federal Hill, make sure to check it out — and if you don’t, make a trip to see it!

Baltimore Ravens official blogger, Mike Duffy, reported that Governor O’Malley visited the team at practice today and cheered them on, putting the whole state’s support behind them. (O’Malley’s website has been Ravenized as well!)

This is such an exciting time in Baltimore with our Ravens in the playoffs. Friday is officially Purple Friday here in Baltimore, and we are all ready to celebrate and cheer on our team!

GO RAVENS!
