We’re nearing the end of July, and the Hunt Valley Towne Center Summer Concert Series has two more months of entertainment!

Each Friday night from 7:30-9pm, live performances from bands will play right in the center section of Main St.

The rest of the year’s lineup is:

July 22: Ricky Olegue and the Rat Pack

July 29: Three of a Kind

August 5: The Fifth Level Band

August 12: The Bridge Trio Unplugged

August 19: Tony Sciuto Band

August 26: Checkered Past

September 2: Moonshine Society

September 9: Tall in the Saddle

September 16: Deanna Bogart

September 23: Slim Bob and the New Electrics

This year, the Hunt Valley Towne Centre’s Summer Concert Series runs all the way through September. In the past, it only ran through August! Now you’ll be able to enjoy the music even as the crisp autumn air begins to set in. (I’m dreaming now, since it will be 103+ degrees out today with heat index of almost 115!)

So come to Hunt Valley for a free concert, some great shopping, food, and more!

Greene Turtle in Hunt Valley

The new Greene Turtle in Hunt Valley is open for business!

It is located in the spot Damon’s Sports Bar & Grill used to occupy in the upper level of the Hunt Valley Towne Centre near Sakura.

The first Greene Turtle opened on Coastal Highway in Ocean City at 116th St in 1976. It has been branching out over the years since then.

It offers TV viewing from every seat, with TV’s at every table, with the intent on the best sports watching around.

It has typical bar food, but one thing it does have is a gluten free menu, which many places currently don’t have.

According to one of my friends who is a DJ, they will have someone spinning tunes on a regular basis.

On the upper level of the Hunt Valley Towne Center, you can find a cluster of restaurants right there, including California Pizza Kitchen, Jesse Wong’s Kitchen, Greystone Grill, as well as Boardwalk Fries & Burgers and Carvel Ice Cream.

This is sure to be a hit once the Hunt Valley Towne Center’s Friday Night Summer Concert Series returns! I am looking forward to dining here, probably this week, to see if it can become a new staple in our eating-out ventures!

Hunt Valley Race for the Cure 2010

October 4, 2010 by

The Susan G Komen Race For the Cure was Sunday, October 3, 2010 in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

I, along with thousands of others, walked, having raised money to help find a cure for Breast Cancer.

The sea of people was an incredible sight, and great to be a part of.

I was very impressed with the organization of the event. If you arrived early enough, parking was fairly easy at the Hunt Valley Towne Centre. Police & volunteers sent you in the right direction, and everyone was cooperative and worked well together.

The race route was well marked, and many volunteers and acts were there to cheer the participants on.

Walking with a group of people who were energized by the event, and happy to be a part of something great made the 3.1 miles go by quickly.

The finish line was a great sight to see — and there was a receiving line of volunteers congratulating those who finished. It was incredible!

Hunt Valley is the location for at least the next two years, so plan on a well coordinated event in Baltimore County, and join us in 2011!
