Weekends have gotten a bit more interesting in Baltimore County at Boordy Vineyards.
Each weekend in January, Boordy hosts the “Chili Winter Days” from 1-5 pm, where you can drink Wassail while you tour the winery, and eat chili paired with their red wines if you are of age. Dean & Brown Catering is supplying the three chili choices, and the cost is $12 for adults, $10 for teens, and $5 for children aged 2-12.
Live music is on tap each weekend as well.
February brings “Fond of Your Fondue” weekends complete with marshmallow roasting on an open fire!
So if you are looking for something neat & different to do, then Boordy is the place to be on weekends in Winter.
Boordy Vineyards is located in beautiful Hydes, MD, (also known to many as Kingsville) right on the border of Baltimore County and Harford County. For a map and directions to Boordy, click here, and enjoy a taste of what Baltimore County has to offer!
Timonium Fairgrounds Offers Beautiful Christmas Trees For Sale
December 7, 2009 by Marney Kirk

A family tradition of ours has been to go to get our tree from the family owned farm that sells their trees at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium every year.
The trees are always full & pretty, their prices reasonable, the selection large, and the people unbelievably nice. A few years back, we even bought a special tree stand where a hole is drilled in the bottom so your tree stands up straight right away. They drill the hole right there in front of you, then they shake the dead needles off the tree, and wrap it in netting for you to take home. They even provide string for you to tie the tree to your car!
A few pointers, I will share with you, if you plan to get your tree there.
1) They also have wreaths and greens — already decorated or plain for what your needs are!
2) BRING CASH. They do not accept any other form of payment.
3) If it has rained or snowed recently, IT WILL BE MUDDY. Make sure to wear boots to traipse around to find your tree!
4) WEAR GLOVES. It is cold & also the tree needles can hurt when you are tying it to your car. (They do not tie the tree to your car for you).
5) Have an old blanket or sheet with you to put under the tree to protect your car.
6) Don’t forget your free candy cane!
The entrance to the trees is the large main entrance to the Fairgrounds – the most northern one on York Road, not the one with the changing sign.
Enjoy your trip & your tree. Another great reason to live in Timonium!
The Maryland State Fairgrounds are located at 2200 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093.
My Keller Williams Excellence Realty Office raised $1,500 for Charity Sunday!

On Sunday our Lutherville office of Keller Williams Excellence Realty held a tailgating party to raise money for KWCares, a 501 (c) (3) Charity.
We were HOPING for a Baltimore Ravens win, since we were watching our home team on multiple screens throughout the office, but we had a victory in our own right!
Through our auction items, including VIP seating, iTunes gift cards, massages, restaurant gift cards and more, plus a raffle of 3 Ravens-Steelers tickets to the game on November 29, 2009, we raised $1,500 for the KWCares Charity!
I was so proud to be a part of the KWCares Committee who brought this event together to raise such a significant amount for our charity.
This was our first year, and we are already planning for next year to make it an annual event!
So mark your calendars for 2010 for an away game against the Bengals. Because we WILL win next year’s match-up and raise even MORE money for charity!
