Towson Green is a new neighborhood being built by Bozzuto Homes.

There will be 121 townhouses, plus a Brightview assisted living facility in the area just off Burke Avenue & East Susquehanna Ave just east of York Road.

Pre-construction starting prices range from the low $300-400,000′s. There will be small parks, a tot lot, and a rain garden, which will handle the runoff water in an environmentally friendly way.

There are four different floorplans for the houses, two with two bedrooms, two with three bedrooms. They each have garages on the first floor, and the three bedroom units will be wider than the two bedrooms.

The Allegheny is a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath home is about 1,607 square feet, with a one car garage beginning in the low $300,000′s. The Burke is 2-3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths with 1,780 square feet and a 1 1/2 car garage, from the mid $300,000′s. The Chesapeake has 3-4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, a two car garage, with 2,030 square feet, and prices beginning in the upper $300,000′s. The largest model is The Dulaney, with 2,526 square feet and 3-4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and a two car garage. The prices for The Dulaney start in the low $400,000′s. Each one has an option for a fourth floor, adding additional square footage.

The Towson Green neighborhood is located in the old Towson Manor Village community. The houses that used to occupy the area have long ago been torn down — many of them were falling down and vacant for years.

Towson Green is right near Downtown Towson with the library across the street, plus plenty of eateries, the Towson Town Center, with its’ new luxury wing with stores and restaurants, plus local shopping nearby.

The Towson Farmer’s Market is just across York Rd, for fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers from June through November.

The Towson Green location is a very convenient one!

Model Homes for the Towson Green neighborhood should be built by this Fall, and the first homes should be finished by early 2012.

East Joppa Road Closed at Towson Town Center and Towson Circle

August 6, 2010 by

East Joppa Road is closed at Towson Town Center and the Towson Circle.

Traffic headed west must take Fairmount Avenue down to Goucher Boulevard to access both the mall and areas west of the Towson Roundabout.

This is due to bridge construction needed on East Joppa Road just east of the circle.

The closure is expected to continue through September 1, 2010.

There are bright orange signs directing traffic through the detour, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled to figure out how to get around. It is a fairly easy & straightforward path, so hopefully there won’t be many issues.

Be careful going around Towson Town Center and East Joppa Road in Towson!

Olympian Park Towson

The Olympian Park construction is under way on the Towson Circle to honor Baltimore County Olympians.

Orange fencing and yellow tape have been on the site for awhile on the site of a former gas station.

Located at the corner of Allegheny & West Joppa Rd (and the Towson Circle), it is a nice site that has been unused for some time.

Google Street View of Towson Olympian Park site

The first Olympians to be honored by the new park are all swimmers who have medaled in the games. Michael Phelps, Katie Hoff, and Jessica Long will have column monuments with their names and medal achievements. More Baltimore County Olympians will be added in the future.

The park has a great location near local shops, as well as the larger stores on the Towson Circle and is caddy-corner to the Towson Town Center Mall,  as well as being across from the upstairs entrance to Barnes & Noble and Trader Joe’s in Towson Circle Plaza.

Baltimore County has been home to a number of past Olympic champions and hopefully many more in the future. It should be wonderful to have this new Towson park to celebrate their achievements and have a nice place to sit when spending time in Towson!

Baltimore County Schools Closed For Second Day in a Row — What to Do With the Kids in Towson

December 21, 2009 by

Baltimore County schools are closed again tomorrow, Tuesday, December 22, 2009. That will be four days with more fanily togetherness than most of us are used to.

So now what?

Unless you are in the areas where a plow has not gotten to, there are fun things to do in Towson!

The ever popular Kenilworth Train Garden is open from 10 am – 9 pm. You can knock out your last minute shopping at the Shops at Kenilworth and the children can enjoy the trains.

The Towson Town Center Mall on Dulaney Valley Road has four floors of shopping, and a great play area on the lower level for young  kids to get their energy out.

Sledding in Towson an always welcome activity for children — with many hills to enjoy!

See if you can meet up with other parents who have to stay home with their kids too. That way if you want to run to a store in either mall, maybe you can switch off who is watching the kids! Tag team!

Good luck & enjoy!
