A special Towson Overlay zoning has been proposed to cover specifically the urban Downtown Towson center of town.

Councilman David Marks has been a huge proponent of this, saying on his facebook page, “The goal is to condense numerous confusing development and zoning districts into one area that has simple rules, better design guidelines and more robust requirements for sustainability and mobility.”

Councilman Marks is holding two community meetings to get input on the Towson Overlay Zone.

The first of the two community meetings is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 3:30 pm at the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, 102 W Pennsylvania Ave #101, Towson, MD 21204.

The second community meeting is schedule for Monday, October 26 at 6:00 pm at the Towson Library, 320 York Road, Towson, MD 21204.

Councilman Marks also shared the link to the minutes from the September 17, 2015 Planning Board Meeting, where the Towson Overlay project was discussed.

Thank you also to the Towson Patch for putting Councilman Marks’ facebook post into an article.

Please attend one of the community meetings if you would like to learn more about the Towson Overlay, and how it may affect the Towson community.
