Maryland real estate market trends from COVID-19 are being put together by our MLS, Bright MLS. Here is the update for the week ending February 7, 2021.
Bright MLS current covers seven states, so there are statistics for a number of areas. There is a general overview for the entire MLS, and later there is specific state data.
Starting on page 21 of the Bright MLS multi-state report 02/07/2021, the Maryland real estate data shows the following:
In Maryland, the daily number of “New Active Listings” added to the market from 1/31-2/7 dropped from last report, and remained below the same period last year. It dropped to 84.3% of the number of new listings from the same point in 2020.
New pending listings from 1/31-2/7 plummeted this week, falling below the same point last year, which is the first time it has done so since May 18, 2020. New contracts came in at 94.2% of the same point last year.
Closings also dropped dramatically last week, but remained higher than the same point last year – closings were at a rate of 118.7% compared to the same week in 2020.
I appreciate this data from Bright MLS and look forward to seeing the next report so I can share with you once received.
