This Month in Real Estate January 2016 has been released.

Home sales activity dropped to a pace of 4.8 million, down from the pace of 5.4 million projected home sales that we saw last month in This Month in Real Estate December 2015.

The median home price rose to $220,300 from $219,600 from last month. This is up 6.3% from the same time last year.

The average interest rate dropped very slightly to an average of 3.96% from 3.97% last month.

Please note that the home prices and sales activity in the above Keller Williams Realty video are national numbers.

As I have mentioned in previous “This Month in Real Estate” posts, Baltimore real estate activity can be very different from the national statistics. There are some areas, even within our local Baltimore real estate market, that may see higher home sales activity, while there are others that may see less than the national averages.

Please contact me for more information about buying or selling a house in Towson or if you are considering buying or selling Timonium real estate. I understand many of the Baltimore real estate markets!
