Artscape 2013 is this weekend, July 19-21!

What is Artscape?

Artscape is a free arts festival in Downtown Baltimore with a multitude of visual arts exhibits, live concerts, performing arts, family events, and more. You can even visit the Meyerhoff for a backstage tour of the BSO!

Over 350,000 people are expected to visit over the three day event this weekend. Hours are Friday 11am-9pm, Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday 11am-8pm.

The location of the festival is Mount Royal Ave & Cathedral St, Charles St, Bolton Hill, + the Station North Arts and Entertainment District area. Be aware there are many roads closed around the festival, so you won’t be able to drive right into it.

This year is an International theme, with 33 countries represented through artwork and performances. There is a special flag display at the Mt. Royal Avenue median near the light rail called “33 Flags,” to celebrate each of the countries represented in the festival this year.

New this year is an app created just for the event — it can help you navigate the different areas, locate performance schedules, and get updates about changes.

You can also visit the Baltimore Artscape’s website, which shows the garages that are open, public transportation options that will get you close by. The site has very good details about the festival, including how to plan your visit, a map of where to go for certain exhibits, and great explanations of what you will find when you visit.

Enjoy the 32nd Annual Artscape in Downtown Baltimore this weekend. A great, fun, free event right in Baltimore!
