Baltimore home prices may be too steep for some buyers, according to an article in the Baltimore Business Journal, citing multiple sources.

Over the last year, Baltimore real estate inventory has been low, so prices in some areas have risen.

The Baltimore Business Journal reports that a Credit Suisse market survey shows that September market activity was “well below expectations.”

A quote from the Baltimore Business Journal article:

“Agent comments are now squarely focused on buyer resistance to current home price levels,” the report said. “Many buyers have shifted from a negotiation mindset toward a willingness to sit on the sidelines and wait for lower prices.”

The report indicates that the Baltimore real estate buyer traffic index fell from 39 in August to 14 in September.

Baltimore sellers need to keep on top of what is happening in the local market around them.
