Harborplace & The Gallery will be hosting “Canstruction” with the build this Saturday May 14, 2011 from 6am-3pm at the Light Street Pavilion.
The Canstruction project is where large sculptures, made completely of cans, are built in a competition to see whose is best from all of the competitors. Architects, engineers, and the like will come out to design, compete, and build the best structure!
Their handiwork will be on display until May 31, 2011 at the Light Street Pavilion in the Inner Harbor.
The best part is that once the display is over, the cans will go to local Baltimore food banks!
Saturday, you can view the competitors build, while Sunday through the end of the month, you can see the finished sculptures, like the one to the left, on display and vote for the “People’s Choice” award!
So come to Downtown Baltimore to check out a neat project that goes for good in our own city!
