Have you ever wondered about the history of Labor Day?

We know that it has to do with the labor movement, and allowing workers the day off, but how did it really start?

I did a little research, and found the United States Department of Labor website has a very detailed description.

2012 marks the 130’s anniversary of the First Labor Day, which was September 5, 1882.

Labor Day, according to the Department of Labor’s website, was designed to annually honor the “contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

So, thank you to our American Workers who have made this Country what it is today, and those who will help to build what it will become.
