The Shops at Kenilworth Towson makeover is a much talked-about item around town.

The new owners, Greenberg Gibbons, announced they plan to spend about $20 million to renovate the mall.

This is great news, as I have noticed a number of stores that have closed, and less people frequenting the space.

There will be better entrance and exits from the outside, making it more welcoming for foot traffic. It will reduce the current space by about 8,000 square feet, but will add a 20,000-square-foot, three-level “marketplace” with a wine bar, multiple eateries, and a rooftop garden.

Here are more details from the Greenberg Gibbons website.

The shops that are currently there are going to remain open during construction, and it is scheduled to be completed in four phases to minimize disruption. Construction is scheduled to begin as early as May and end in summer 2017.

I am excited about the changes and updates coming to the Shops at Kenilworth in Towson!
