National Homeownership Month is the month of June each year.

The celebration started as a week years ago, and in 2002 President George W. Bush proclaimed the month of June to be dedicated to homeownership. Every president since has proclaimed June as National Homeownership Month.

The National Association of REALTORS(R) (NAR) even has a website devoted to homeownership: homeownershipmatters.realtor where this month there are articles celebrating homeownership and local news. This year, like last year, there is a section devoted to COVID-19.

This year, 2021, the theme of National Homeownership Month is “Celebrate Timeless Moments.” On the website, they state, “The homeowner journey looks different for everyone – and that’s what makes it special. This June, we’re celebrating National Homeownership Month by sharing the timeless moments we create at home.”
