Small Business Saturday is November 28, 2020.
What is Small Business Saturday?
It is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses — the Saturday after “Black Friday.”
It was begun by American Express in 2010, and was recognized by Congress in 2011.
There is no cost to small business owners to participate, and no cost to consumers. This is to help our local businesses!
This year especially, small businesses are struggling. If you are not comfortable going into a store this year, most stores have curbside pickup – you can shop online, or you can call in an order and pick it up or you may possibly be able to have it shipped. A lot of local businesses sell local goods too – so you would be helping multiple local people by shopping small!
Join in, and shop local, small stores, and then help out further by letting your friends and family know you support your local small businesses by posting on facebook, twitter, and any other social media sites you frequent! This helps promote these small businesses, which helps them to stay in business. Heightened awareness should help remind us to #shopsmall LOCAL SHOPS AND OWNERS throughout the year!
